This is an invitation into a long term collective decision making process about the future of 111 acres of precious, unique, and sacred habitat that is currently under our stewardship in the gulf south.
We invite those with a strong call to the work of forging a new vision of relationship—to this land, to each other, and to self. We’re looking for those who wish to share in the abundance, joy, and transformative power of taking responsibility for the impact our lives have on the earth.
We want to engage in a process of collectivizing stewardship of the land, whether through a workers coop, a community land trust, or both. We envision this process as a deep dive into each other’s needs, wants, and boundaries when it comes to living and working on this land in community, determining where there is alignment, and taking action accordingly.
A high priority for us is the willingness in the heart to be committed to the process in good faith. We are calling in those who have reached a time in their lives where they are ready to invest themselves in this project because it aligns with their values and they are ready to make bold choices.
We understand that no one can determine whether such an investment makes sense until needs, desires, and boundaries have been clarified. Often this takes time. This is why we invite you into a process of creating cooperation, where we request your honesty, vulnerability, and transparency, and we offer the same.
Our next community campout, January 30th, will be an open house of sorts where we will share more about our vision, values, and the extent to which we have invested our time, energy and resources into relationship with the land. We hope to lay a foundation for creating democratic power structures that value people’s energy, commitment, and investment. From there, we will determine regular meeting times to continue the process of structuring the cooperative.
You can read more about our values here, and past calls for the kind of help we’re looking for by clicking here. We have opportunities for collective housing/meals on the land, and/or to contribute to the businesses we currently operate to meet expenses/generate income as well as projects we’re developing to live with integrity on the land.
We currently have a large 30’ diameter yurt, a full kitchen, shower, bunkhouse, and more building projects in the works.
We see the primary and current business models to be events, workshops, rentals, and a membership model—but we are open to other ideas.
If you have been seeking an opportunity to get involved on the ground level of a land project, we’d love to hear from you! Email info@allyouneedinstitute.com for any questions, or attend our open house community campout on Jan 31st.
